Resumo

The object of analysis of this research is the practice of embroidery, investigating how it is articulated with processes of artification and as a narrative to work on aspects of mourning and the embroiderer's sense of belonging to the territory they inhabit. Focusing on the free embroidery technique developed by the Matizes Dumont Group, whose trajectory began in a domestic and family context and later expanded to other spaces, the research starts from an ethnographic analysis to understand how embroidery operates as a tool for subjective and objective expression. In this sense, it seeks to analyze how the act of embroidery articulates categories such as memory, affections and a politics of the sensitive, configuring itself as a practice that transcends the individual sphere to weave networks of shared meanings and resignify collective experiences through it.
