Comportamento de ancoragens para torres estaiadas em solo residual

Abstract

This report comprises data and analysis of the results of a set of uplift load tests in inclined grillages, used as foundations for guyed towers, buried in residual soil. These tests were part of an important project for electric power transmission. One was concerned with investigating load capacity and failure pattern of anchors, based on theories developed at other centers. Influence of the foundation geometry, effect of load cycles and punching were also investigated. As a whole, behavior of the anchors was influenced by water content variations, differences among foundations depth levels and greater resistance of the compacted backfill, compared to natural soil.
