A Enfermeira AnaNeri no país do futuro: a aventura da luta contra a tuberculose

Abstract

The object of study is a group of Federal nurses/supervisors, whose discourse allows the analysis of the conflicts and tensions arising from the demands of their social roles, feminine and professional, and that result in breaking with old stereotypes of gender and profession and that modify their professional identify. The evolution of the social representation of tuberculosis and the respective artistic manifestations are related to the different economic and political moments and explain the way through which societies seek to handle the problem of this disease, which in Brazil, from the 40's on, constituted the National Campaign Against Tuberculosis NCAT/CNCT. The approach through Oral History permits the analysis of the constitution, the development, and the crises of this group, which are explained by the trajectory of the institution inside the health sector, in the context of society's medicalization. The NCAT/CNCT nursing, active for 30 years on a national scale has become one of the roots of Brazilian nursing.
