Utilização de "OUTRIGGERS" em edifícios altos

Abstract

This work aims to study the use of outriggers to reduce the sideway top displacement of tall buildings under lateral wind loading. A lateral load with equivalent linear distribution to the actual wind load is adopted and equations for one or several outriggers are developed seeking for optimum positioning and their efficiency in reducing sideway top displacements and on the reduction of core base moment are investigated. For the outriggers in their optimum locations the effect of the adopted linear distribution of loading on sideway top desplacement is evaluated in comparison with its uniform distribution counterpart. ln an example, comparisons are made for the behaviour of a real structure, and conclusions are drawn as to use the developed equations.
