Tratamento endodôntico não instrumental: o que você precisa saber

Abstract

Considering the diversity of Non-Instrumental Endodontic Treatment (NIET) protocols for primary teeth found in the literature and the doubts reported by undergraduate students and Pediatric Dentists, we noticed the need to develop a standardize protocol to be used at the School of Dentistry da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, but that could be extrapolated for external use. In this context, the objective of this work was to repare an illustrated clinical protocol regarding NIET in order to disseminate the technique and assist undergraduate, postgraduate students and pediatric dentists. The preparation of the protocol and selection of topics covered in the guide was based on a literature review that identified the most relevant issues for clinicians. Thus, the theoretical material was prepared in the form of topics, including: a) definition; b) indications and contraindications; c) detailed clinical protocol; d) prescription e) summarized clinical protocol; f) clinical and radiographic follow up; g) references; and, h) glossary. Furthermore, the manual presents theoretical references that support the Endodontics Research Groups in Pediatric Dentistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (GedOPed-UFRJ) choices. Thus, the technique is widely disseminated, serving as permanent, freely accessible reference material.
