Avanços e desafios da implementação do aborto legal por violência sexual no município do Rio de Janeiro: uma análise de duas iniciativas realizadas na Secretaria Municipal de Saúde do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

This monograph sought to discuss the advances and challenges of implementing legal abortion in the city of Rio de Janeiro. For this, it was necessary to contextualize the legal and sociopolitical structure that underlies the performance of the technical area of women's health on the issue of legal abortion due to sexual violence, constituting such an important framework for the organization of health practices and two initiatives observed by the resident , author of this work, during her training period at the Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro, were included in the analysis. They are: a methodology to sensitize health professionals to the issue of legal abortion and the performance of the Nucleus for the Promotion of Solidarity and Prevention of Violence (NPSPV) in a case of pregnancy resulting from sexual violence. Although there are health professionals who strive to enforce a fundamental right for women who suffer sexual violence, which results in pregnancy, the challenges for the implementation of legal abortion in the health services network are still many.
