Resumo

This work aims to study the bond-behavior of bamboo strips of the species Dendrocalamus Giganteus to bamboo bioconcretes. The strips were mechanically characterized by direct tensile and flexural tests and the bioconcretes were produced containing 25, 35 and 45% volumetric fractions of bamboo bioaggregates. Bioconcretes were mechanically characterized by direct tensile, uniaxial compression and diametral compression tensile tests. In order to promote greater adherence to the bioconcrete, the bamboo strips were treated with epoxy resin and sand and the effect of these treatments was evaluated by pullout test. The stress transfer analysis between the bioconcrete and the reinforcement strips was performed by the tension stiffening test. In this case only strips treated with the treatment that presented the best result in the pullout test (resin + sand) was used. The results show that the knotless bamboo strips have a tensile strength of 160 MPa and a modulus of elasticity of 22 GPa. Treatment with sand and epoxy resulted in a bamboo-bioconcrete bonding stress of 4.53 MPa and in the tension stiffening test the behavior presented by the bioconcrete-bamboo composite exhibits the elastic phase, multiple cracking and post-cracking.
