Energia potencial: políticas e estratégias para implementação da produção de energia elétrica no meio urbano

Abstract

This article is part of a reflection on the model of urban space production and its relationship with the current model of production, distribution and consumption of electric energy in Brazil and in the world. This reflection seeks answers to questions such as: To whom is electricity generated? How is it generated? Who contrais this production? Who can afford it? What are the environmental and social impacts of this model? ln presenting answers to these questions, we seek to highlight the potential of alternative forms of production and consumption, starting from the premise that the city can produce its own energy. As a result of the study, we outline the possibilities of developing strategic methodologies and policies that contribute to the decentralization of electric energy production, seeing the city with the potential for self­production, minimizing the socio-environmental impacts of the current model.
