A desconstrução da cultura do consumismo em colaboração com a educação ambiental: o papel da escola

Abstract

Humanity has had access to information for decades that natural resources are exhaustible, but it was not until the 1970s that concern with the environment became a relevant issue. The economy turned to irresponsible consumption, by impulse, for years was the driving force for the excessive use of natural resources. Given the above, we have the following scientific problem: does school play any role in deconstructing consumerism, in favor of the environment? The present research, in response to the scientific problem, had as a general objective to analyze the role of the school in the deconstruction of the consumerism culture through Environmental Education. As a specific objective, the research brought to the discussion the views of theorists and authors about the role that the school plays in a capitalist society; also brought documentary data. In view of these major climatic catastrophes and negative expectations about the future of planet Earth, this research is justified by the importance of reflecting on the theme.
