Abstract

The study of the stability of a structure composed by the association of walls is based on the study of the stability of isolated walls. In the present work, it is obtained the value of critical tension, through the application of the differential equation for rectangular wall and also through the potential energy principle. The result obtained is used in the study of the stability of a composed structure by the association of four rectangular walls joined along their longitudinal edges. The general equations obtained herein showed that with the hipothesis adopted, the local buckling is not largely influencied by the association of multiple walls.
